JAMES PITTS
MULGA, ALABAMA

James Pitts joined the Navy on June 3, 1941 and boarded the Harry Lee on July 31, 1941 and served for 3 years and 8 months, then was transferred to the Delta Queen in late 1944 or early 1945, then to the USS Minneapolis in 1945. He was discharged on Nov. 9, 1945.

James lived in Mulga, AL and passed away on February 25, 2009.

Some of his memories included his Division officer, J.G. Diley, Chief Donahue from Boston, J.A. Babilue and Landrig from Boston. Frank B. Noblick was in the fireroom with him.
